SCARLET/VIOLET

To be honest, I was not at all expecting to like SCVI, from the day that it was announced, I didn't really feel anything but fear for how the game was going to turn out. But I was dead wrong in that.

SCVI is one of the best pokemon games story-wise in a LONG time. With extremely fleshed out characters who have actual arcs. (I could not say the same for XY or SWSH.)

This has been the most fun I've had playing a new pokemon game in a while, and I would go as far as to say that this makes BDSP being horrible worth it.

So far, I've caught shiny hoppip and shiny pawmot, built an extremely offensive, competitive team that I am proud of, and fallen in love with Arven. Sorry.

I also appreciate how this game clearly caters to competitive pokemon battlers, giving easy access to battle items, EXP candies, TMs, EV/IV boosting items, Tera Type changing, and the addition of ability capsules. All of which can be used to perfect any pokemon, and gets rid of the need to breed for specific attributes... It's nice to know that Pokemon is looking out for battlers and not just kids.
